When you gotta go...

Just when I thought I saw everything! Well, I can't honestly say that. I usually see or hear something new every day of my life, so I shouldn't be surprised at anything at all. But still, there are some things that totally blow me away.

Take for instance the other afternoon. It was gorgeous outside and I had the front living room window blinds open to allow the beautiful day to pour in. I just happened to be watering the plants by the window when I saw a green sedan pull into the neighbors driveway next door.

Though I didn't recognize the woman who emerged from the drivers side of the vehicle, I just assumed she knew my neighbor and was there for a visit. But, something seemed a bit odd to me when I saw her lift a young boy out of the back seat and take him to the rear of the car.

Three other young men also got out of the car... one with what looked like a dog bowl in his hand. He gave the bowl to the woman, who proceeded to unzip the little guys pants to let him urinate in the bowl!

Now, you have to remember, this is in broad daylight, in a driveway on private property that this woman is doing this. She is very lucky it wasn't in MY driveway though, because I would not stand for that.

Granted, I understand children sometimes need to "go" at inconvenient times, but there are better places to "go" than in someones driveway! We live one block over from a fast-food restaurant and a donut shop. Both places were clearly visible to the woman before she decided to turn into my neighbors driveway.

Would it not have been wiser to take the boy into the proper facility when nature called? It certainly would have been less embarrassing to the boy, the woman and all the passengers in the car if the boy was taken into a restroom.

And for all you readers who wonder what she did with the urine-filled bowl when the boy was done... She was considerate enough to take it to the curb and pour it onto the street (eeww). Afterwards, they all climbed back into the car and drove off. Just like the entire incident wasn't noteworthy at all.

It simply irks me to no end to see people do things like this. If it were my child in a situation like that, I would pull into the nearest gas station or establishment offering rest facilities. Even if the little one was already bursting all over me!

There is absolutely no reason to treat your child like you would an animal. Humans require proper rest-room facilities, unlike animals who freely use the curb!

Not that this woman (or her passengers that day) will ever read this blog post. But should they somehow happen upon it, they will definitely know who I was referring to. I can only hope she will make a better choice the next time she finds herself in that situation.
