Why are they special?

I am constantly wondering how some people get away with doing things others are not allowed to? What makes people believe they have some special privilege/permission that others don't?

Take for instance, the one vehicle in a line of bumper-to-bumper traffic that suddenly pulls to the shoulder of the road and proceeds to crawl along it to pass traffic that is patiently waiting in the proper lane. I'd really like to know where these people get this "Side-line" authority!

Do they realize the shoulder of a road/highway is a designated Emergency lane, primarily for stopped/disabled vehicles? Because that is what it is designed for! It's not for arrogant drivers as a means to get ahead of everyone else!

I can't remember how many times I've been slowed up in traffic due to construction and watched another driver pass me on the soft-shoulder of the road. This same driver also has the nerve to then try and sneak back over into the proper traveling lane. And, of course, somewhere up ahead he/she will find another more 'courteous' driver that will let the vehicle back in!!

Do these individuals drive around believing they possess 'Special' privileges that other do not? Well, they must, because this same scenario is played out day-after-day on nearly any road you come upon with a traffic delay of some sort.

Special... my foot! Plain old 'ARROGANCE' is the correct term to use as far as I am concerned. This is just one example of many in regards to people who think they are special or claim some sort or exemption from society rules, regulations and policies.

Bottom line... These arrogant individuals totally 'IRK' me to no end!
